I am a chaotic-good type of person (look it up!) who enjoys meeting new people. My photography style is unique. I enjoy the moments I am able to make photos from and I want to convey the emotion of each individual scene as close to how it felt as possible. My style is uplifting and gives emotions of warmth above all else. I want the photos we create to make you remember how that day felt.

    Favourite Place to Shoot: The Biltmore is just too classy not to love. The grounds change every few months and it is the perfect spot to celebrate in style.

Three Things

  1. I love to have conversations with people and hear about their lives. I love to go on hikes in WNC and share those experiences with my girl, Sarah. I love listening to music at the end of the night and to let my mind race.
  2. Before photography I worked in retail, BUT I have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies. I had planned to travel for my job for research projects and take wildlife/landscape photos while doing data for pro-environmental causes. I ended up loving what doing photography full-time gave me mentally to where I decided to do the other stuff later in life. More of a "see you later" than a "goodbye". Which is what life should be right?
  3. I have a vinyl collection that includes the wonderful Harry Styles, Holly Humberstone and Elton John. One of my favorite foods is Hamburger Helper (only two specific flavors, so don't judge me).

More Information

Jake is sometimes available to travel to Gatlinburg TN, Greenville SC, or anywhere else within 1.5 hours of Asheville for a 90-minute minimum session and a $125 travel fee. Please inquire for details.

Jake was excellent. He made us all feel comfortable and had great ideas for locations and poses for our photos. And, the photos turned out wonderful. I am hoping we have another reason to be in Asheville and take photos so we can hire Jake again!

Jake was a pleasure to work with. It was rainy out entire visit and he kept up to date with the weather and in touch with us to make sure we maximized any sun breaks during our photo shoot. He was fun and easy to work with during the shoot (very relaxed and at ease) and the pictures from it are wonderful despite needing to capture a baby and kids. Highly recommend!
