Meet Ashley in Lake Tahoe

I am a natural light lifestyle photographer, but also a restless mountain mama that is used to chasing my kids down dusty mountain trails and always looking for the next adventure (preferably to a beautiful new photo location)! I often hear my clients say that their session was like a fun date night because my focus is on keeping things playful and lighthearted. I love energetic moments and romanticizing daily life which shines through in my work. I guess you could say I get a little dramatic (in my photography style).

    Favourite Place to Shoot: Fallen Leaf Lake, as I love the dramatic mountain backdrop of this quiet lake. It's a lesser known gem in Tahoe with beautiful meadows and aspen groves mixed into the pine forests before leading to the pebble covered lakeshore.

Three Things

  1. When you live in one of the most beautiful places you must take the time to enjoy it! I love going for family hikes usually to a secluded beach to watch my kids enjoy this incredible place we call home. I also love popcorn so much that I force the rest of my family to play a board game or watch a movie each week just so I have an excuse to make heaping bowls of popcorn. Don't tell them that is the reason though 🍿
  2. Before photography I was a stay at home mom. I just wanted to document my babies lives beautifully. So as many photographer's stories begun, I bought an entry level camera at Costco and downloaded a book, Advancing Your Photography. Being an obsessive learner, it simply wasn't enough information. So I enrolled in the photography program at my college and after developing my first roll of film in the darkroom I was hooked and have been ever since.
  3. One thing I can't live without is laughter. Is there any better feeling than a genuine belly laugh? Maybe hearing a loved one's whole hearted laughter. It doesn't matter if it has been a wonderful day or a challenging one, laughter always makes it better.

We had such an amazing time with Ashley!! This was our first time doing a photoshoot, and Ashley made us feel so comfortable and at ease. She gave us gentle direction (which was much appreciated!) but we still felt so relaxed and ourselves throughout the shoot - the time really flew by! Ashley even accommodated our request to head to a second spot down the road and we were able to get some lovely photos there as well. She was also amazingly quick with sending us the final photos (our photoshoot was in the morning and we received them by the evening!) and we have so many to choose from it'll be hard to narrow them down! We would highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a photographer in Lake Tahoe!
